Be Sure To Budget For Transportation
This is something that many of us simply forget to budget for, or just decide to ignore completely.
Depending where to and how much traveling you are doing, 🚍 transportation costs can add up big time! 🙁
Whether 🚍 bus transportation, 🚗 car rental, 🚕 taxi or any other mode of travel you may be taking once you have reached your chosen destination, be sure to include this in your travel budget.
It is always a good idea to check with your local travel agent, or even on the internet for transportation costs in and around your chosen destination.
In many cases and depending on how many people are in your group, 🚖 taxis can often times, be cheaper than bus transportation.
We found this a while back, on our holiday to 🏝 Hawaii. It was cheaper for our group to take a private taxi van, than that of the local 🚌 shuttle bus based on a – per person cost.
This surprised me, but in the long run it ended up being much more convenient, faster and cheaper too! 🙂
Include Accommodation In Your Travel Budget Plans
Aside from the cost of air travel and food, 🛌 accommodation is definitely one of the more expensive aspects of travel.
This is not the case of course, if you may be taking one of those 🍹 All Inclusive Vacations, where accommodation is certainly included in your total holiday package.
These types of vacation packages offer Outstanding Value for the dollar, along with 🛳 Cruise Vacations as well.
It definitely pays to shop around and even contact the 🏨 hotel or motel provider directly, rather than going through a third party.
This is also where the many 👩 Benefits Of Booking With A Travel Agent is a great option, depending on where you are traveling to.

Establish A Food Budget When Preparing Your Travel Budget
The next highest cost for travel is of course – 🥙 Food.

One such option is by selecting a hotel that offers a free breakfast included, with the cost of your accommodation.
Yes, there are limitations depending on where you are staying, but we often are able to enjoy a healthy breakfast with beverages included.
When you’re traveling with a group of 4 for example, this can save you a great deal of money!
Food is difficult to budget for, but depending on where you are heading, one can usually stay within a daily set budget.
Your highest expense for food will be if you plan on eating out for every meal. There are so many options to make your meals much more affordable.
For example;
✔ Hit the grocery stores or local markets and prepare you’re own meals.

Add Activities Into Your Budget Plans
This pretty much includes everything else that you will have to dish out for on your travels.
For example;
✔ Tours & Attractions;
✔ Admission tickets;
✔ Sporting events;
✔ Rentals.
These are just a few of the endless extras that have to be accounted for on a holiday.
So think about what you may have to pay extra for and try to include this in your travel budget, within reason of course.
At least if you include this right away in your total expected expenses, you will be somewhat prepared when you arrive and have put money aside for these extras.

Most of us all like to buy souvenirs and clothing while away on vacation, so set a budget and try to stick to it. It may prevent you from buying something you really didn’t need in the first place! 🙂
Be Prepared For Sudden Emergencies When Budgeting
Last but definitely not least is those unexpected expenses that surface while away.
I like to think of it as miscellaneous expenses. Things always happen or appear unexpectedly when away from home, whether that of an emergency in nature or just something extra that surfaces when traveling.
Lost sunglasses, more suntan lotion, that souvenir you simply can’t do without. I’m sure you get the message! 🙂
Credit Cards
Within the last few years and like many other seasoned travelers, 🏧 ATM’s are so readily available that we try to use 💵 cash for just about everything.
It’s a lot cheaper than having to pay those extra fees 💳 credit cards add to your bill, when your statement arrives.
At the same time, it’s always good to travel with at least one 💳 credit card, so you can take care of those extra sudden expenses or unexpected emergencies along the way.
We always use 💳 credit cards that offer ✈ air miles and other travel related inclusions. We have cards that have rental car collision coverage, medical, baggage loss, cancellation and more.
We’ve enjoyed a number of free flights over the year,s by using travel related credit cards. They cost a little more, but if you travel frequently, they are definitely worth it!
There you have it, six simple suggestions to think of, when planning your holiday and trying to figure out your budget for expenses. Travel does not have to be that expensive, if you set limitations and budget accordingly.
We have always managed quite well on holidays over the years, by just trying to stick as closely as possible to our pre-planned travel budget.
